THE THIRD SPACE
Coined by social scientist Ray Oldenburg,
“The Third Place, [is] any space other than our homes (First Place) or work (Second Place), [and is] designed to enhance the lifestyle experience throughout a community, fostering social connections."
You may know your "Third Space" as
The cafe where you have a
great cup of coffee and
catch up with friends
The bar where you
enjoy a cold pint with
good company
The library that
feeds the mind and
nurtures the soul
These places are even more important than we realize and that's exactly what our project aims to provide for Andasibe.
THE SPACE
The old government building that our project aims to revitalize is abandoned,
un-used, and a time capsule of a community space forgotten.
Our project puts community at the center of the project. The design is solely based on community input and need based on the comprehensive feasibility study conducted by our team.
